Heyford Lakes Fishery.
Access is off the B4449 between Hardwick and Stanton Harcourt.
It comprises three lakes; The Specimen Lake, Surman Lake and Bents Pool.

There is no closed season on these lakes.
Night fishing is permitted on payment of the night fishing supplement.

 

 

The largest lake is the Specimen lake which as its name implies holds some very large Mirror and Common Carp along with Tench, Pike, Roach, Perch and Chub etc.
Carp have been recorded to 39lb Pike to 33lb and Tench to 12lb 7 oz.

   
 

Of the two smaller lakes, the one nearest the entrance is the Surman Lake which is heavily stocked with Carp, Tench, Rudd, Roach, Perch, Chub and Bream.

 

The other small lake is Bents Pool which is stocked with Carp, Tench, Rudd, Roach, Perch, Chub and Bream. The Carp in Bents pool tending to be larger than those in Surmans Lake.

This is the largest of Newland AC's stillwaters at around 15 acres and it is essentially a mixed fishery although it has produced specimen fish of a number of different species.


Access is also off the B4449 and is almost opposite the entrance to the clubs Heyford Lakes complex.

Pike have been caught to over 30lb.

A number of the pegs on this lake have been designed with disabled anglers in mind.



 

There is car parking to the left and right of the entrance which is normally kept locked (The combination can be found in your club membership card).
